Pacific Beach, Oregon
Took a trip today to the Oregon coast, me, my mom, my brother, our black lab Lucy and my buddy Neil. Of all my closest friends from high school, Neil’s probably the one who’s had to grow up the most in the traditional sense. When I left for college he was still working on his [...]

Brand New Skills
This is the new flyer for the next Breakfast Epiphanies show, and I’m pretty happy with how it came out, especially since it’s 100% by me — no stealing this time around. Pretty soon I can add “graphic design” to my list of Skills!

Liquid photos
Living with musicians means I’ve taken a lot of pictures and video of concerts, and I’ve discoverd that photographs just turn out different under low-wattage lights with rock and roll vibrating through the air. Here’s a picture of the Kindred Fall show last night, taken with the flash on. And here are some pictures under [...]

Saint Patrick’s Day
When I’ve remembered to celebrate it, Saint Patrick’s Day has typically never meant much more than a color to me. Before I left for college, the holiday would snuck up on me in the form my mysteriously green milk, slipped into my lunchbox, perhaps along with some shamrock confetti, or even a green sandwich if [...]

I know this guy!! (bigger version: page 1 |page 2) Living in Southern California means I’ve crossed paths with famous people a few times. I met Mary Steenburgen, and tried on hats at her and Ted Dansen’s house. I saw Juliette Lewis’ band when they played a show at my dorm. I’ve be to concerts [...]

Glorious Revealing
So today is Pi day! To celebrate, I did all of my math homework! And none of my chemestry. Hopefully I have time for it tomorrow? If this seems mundane, well, so is math. Just kidding math! I’m sorry, really. But you could maybe add a bit more drama or character development to your computation, [...]

Be EXCELLENT to each other!
Watched a good portion of Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure tonight. The lack of conflict, character devlopment or real suspense means that the script would totally not pass muster in any of my screenwriting classes, and the direction rests firmly in the mediocre for at least half the movie (although there are some inspired bits(, [...]

Two animal stories
Number one: Lost baby hippo meets 100 year old tortoise, magical bond of friendship is formed. It’s not the plot for the best children’s book, it’s real!! It’s nice to read this sort of news in a war-torn and disaster-stricken world. Number two: in response to my recent Good and Evil post, Grant asked “what’s [...]
