Raaaarrrr
The last few days, and yesterday especially, I’ve been in a growly mood. I’ve stomped around the apartment and sat slumped at my desk and stood confused in the very middle of the room and growled. GRRRRR!!!! I don’t feel like a lion, a monster or really anything that stalks, and most of the time [...]

White Board through the ages
RRAAAARRRRRRGGHhhh. When Ed and I moved over to this apartment from the Sycamore house, we brought the white board with us. The board has served as an open forum for art, commentary and grocery lists for quite a while now. I’m not even sure where it came from. Anyway, we’ve always enjoyed seeing how the [...]

A few holiday tales and tidings
I’m sorry I didn’t get around to posting a Thanksgiving run-down yesterday. I spent nearly the whole day stringing Christmas lights at a huge house belonging to an old rich man. We put up a number of fake Christmas trees, which were mostly the sort that are made to look like real trees, with fake [...]

Thanksgiving.
Since 2001 when I left home for the wide, wide world, I have aquired something of a tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving in a different place and with different people each year. This is not to say that the feast is always forigen, because there’s always been turkey and pumpkin pie (although I will say that [...]

I guess I hate movies
Sometimes people watch movies in our apartment. Last week Kyle was watching A Beautiful Mind, which won the Oscar for best picture in 2002, which severely underwhelmed me the first time I watched it, but I sat in for a couple of scenes with an open mind as I ate my dinner, wondering if my [...]

Una broma bilingue
Q: What do you call a fish hatchery in Spanish? A: Una dispensador de pez!! jajajajajajaja! (Pez means fish in spanish, and dispensador is my best guess for “dispenser” — hence, it would be a pez dispenser, a joke most Españoles probably wouldn’t get, sad as that is.)

Because everyone else seems to be doing it;
and because I watched a bunch of old Smashing Pumpking videos tonight, here are some song lyrics: “And you know you’re never sure, but you’re sure you could be {made} right If you held yourself up to the light.” Also, my job at Chapman is kind of stringing me along, and many things don’t feel [...]

In which I sell out.
I’ve been doing some writing for a website called Associated Content, which basically pays you for articles featuring words people will search for, and then hopefully link to a website from. It’s not glamorous work, but so far they have paid me decently, and since it’s adding to my portfolio, I don’t have much to [...]

That time of year
So there are two seperate dinner parties and intimate conversations going on in my small apartment right now and I am not a part of either of them. I stood inbetween the two groups trying to be social, but it was clear that there was no place for me in either intimate conversation. Oh well, [...]
